Heather Treseler (English) has a review essay, “A Poet in Place,” in the current edition of the Weekly Standard.

Treseler also chaired the Elizabeth Bishop Society’s panel at the American Literature Association in late May and will present a paper, “‘Private Faces in Public Places’: Bishop’s Triptych of Washington, D.C.” at the Elizabeth Bishop: Questions of Travel (1965) Centenary Conference at the University of Sheffield in England on June 25.

She is currently working with Honors students Kayleigh Berger and Kasey Wozniak on a Summer Undergraduate Research Grant, “Elizabeth Bishop: from Archive to Archetype,” assessing the Worcester-born poet’s new archival materials, writing about their import to our understanding of the poet’s career, and designing related curricula for high school and college students of poetry.
