Morreale Discusses Leadership at Middle East Partnership Initiative Event

Stephen A. Morreale (Criminal Justice) participated as a facilitator for the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) underwritten by the U.S. Department of State, and locally sponsored by Roger Williams University (RWU).

Sixteen graduate students were selected to travel to the U.S. and visit Washington, D.C. and New York before arriving at RWU. The MEPI students represent the countries of Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Yemen and Qatar.

Professor Morreale served as a presenter on the subject of leadership. In another session, he assisted students craft a mission, vision and plan for a social change project to be implemented in their native countries. With support of the U.S. State Department, some of the projects include: creating an Arab rights organization targeting teens, improving education for orphans, air pollution reduction, awareness campaign to stop young marriages, establishing school for the deaf, women’s rights promotion through sports, and woman’s rights in the political sector.
